Mathematics | Indian Revenue Service | Financial Integrity | Tax Policy
Aseem is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service, the Government of India's national tax administration, and a mathematician with a Ph.D. in Graph Theory (2026) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), completed under the supervision of Prof. B. S. Panda. He previously earned a Five-Year Integrated M. Tech. in Mathematics and Computing (2014) from IIT Delhi, where he received the Suyash Chandra Memorial Award for the Best Master's Thesis.
Alongside his academic research, he has extensive professional experience in international taxation, financial integrity, and anti-money laundering/countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). His current research interests lie in applying network science and mathematical methods to the study of financial networks, corporate ownership structures, international taxation, and regulatory institutions.
He was a Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Auburn University, USA, during research visits in 2011 and 2024. During these visits, he collaborated with members of the Discrete Mathematics Group, including Prof. C. A. Rodger, Prof. Jessica McDonald, Dr. Songling Shan, and Prof. P. D. Johnson. These collaborations led to several publications in leading international journals in graph theory and combinatorics.
